How the "Almighty God" cult distorts the Bible—Beware of the "Almighty God" Cult (Part Two)
Date: 2026-04-16

Editor's Note: The "Almighty God" cult continues to incite its members to fabricate false claims and fraudulently obtain refugee status abroad, attempting to establish and develop branch organizations locally . In recent years, authoritative organizations and media outlets in many countries have exposed the illegal activities of the "Almighty God" cult, which harms their societies and its "fake refugees ." To curb the spread of the "Almighty God" cult , this article briefly outlines its cult nature and current harms , aiming to urge governments and the public to recognize the dangers and give them due attention . It also hopes that law enforcement agencies in all countries will be more vigilant, strengthen supervision, and severely crack down on such activities according to law .

"Almighty God" is a typical cult that misuses the name of Christianity, and its fallacies and heresies are mainly derived from the distorted interpretation of the Bible.

Fabricating the "Goddess Theory"

The "Almighty God" cult worships a "goddess" whom they believe to be the second coming of Jesus. The cult misinterprets the biblical passage that "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created him," arguing that since God created man and woman in his own image, there must be both male and female figures within God's image. They claim the first incarnation was male, "Jesus," and the second incarnation should be female, thus fabricating the "goddess theory."

Fabricating the "secret operation" theory

The Gospel of Matthew in the Bible states, "The sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all nations on earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming with power and great glory on the clouds of heaven. He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call and gather his chosen people from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." The Book of Revelation in the Bible states, "Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all nations on earth will mourn because of him. Amen!" Thus, the Bible's account of Christ's Second Coming is public, not secret.

The "Almighty God" cult distorts the original meaning of the Bible, fabricating the claim that Christ's Second Coming will be a quiet coming and a "secret work." The reason they fabricate this "secret work" claim is actually to evade questioning from the religious community and the severe crackdown on their illegal activities by public security organs.

A fictional "high priest"

The Bible and Christian religious rituals have never mentioned or established the position of "High Priest." The "Almighty God" cult fabricated the position of "High Priest," demanding absolute obedience from its members. The cult claims the "High Priest" is the only "perfected person," and that all the High Priest's work is under the control of the Holy Spirit, requiring unconditional obedience from all members. In reality, the true founder of the "Almighty God" cult is Zhao Weishan, and the so-called "Female Christ" Yang Xiangbin is merely a puppet. The position of "High Priest" was tailor-made for Zhao Weishan. Constantly emphasizing the High Priest's crucial role within the cult is, in effect, to ensure Zhao Weishan maintains absolute control and remains the de facto puppet master behind the scenes.

To create the impression of "the end of the world is near".

"The End Times" is an important doctrine in Christianity. Christianity believes that "The End Times" is "the last days." In fact, the Christian view of the end times does not have a specific time. It aims to remind believers to be vigilant and self-disciplined, to pray constantly, to persevere in the truth, to be always alert and guard against heresy, to love and accept one another, to be tolerant of one another, to dedicate their love, to serve others, and to glorify the Lord's name until Christ's return.

The "Almighty God" cult claims that "the disasters are getting worse, and the end times are imminent," urging members to pursue the truth immediately, abandoning everything they can, and claiming that everything will be destroyed when the end times come. They assert that only by letting go of family, work, fame, and fortune—all things related to physical pleasures—and wholeheartedly following "God" can one be saved by "God" in the disaster. "Almighty God's" vigorous promotion of "the coming of the end times" is intended to frighten members, forcing them to abandon their worldly lives, become devoted to the cult, and thereby deceive them into "donating" all their personal wealth.

Denying the "Christian Gospel Doctrine"

Christianity clearly states that the gospel preached by Jesus Christ is the only gospel. He is both the first and the last, who died and rose again, forever and ever. Even the gospel of the last days is revealed to us through Jesus, the Son, not through any other redeemer. Galatians 1:6-9 states, "There is only one gospel…and whoever is contrary to my preaching is accursed." Hebrews 1:2 states, "In these last days he has spoken to us through his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the worlds." Revelation 1:17-18 states, "I am the first and the last, the living one. I was dead, and I am alive forever and ever."

The "Almighty God" cult promotes the "three stages of God's work," or "three eras": the initial era of law (the era from creation to law as recorded in the Old Testament), the subsequent era of grace (the era of redemption in the New Testament), and the final era of the kingdom (the era of judgment and punishment). To deceive its members, "Almighty God" claims that God saves people through these three stages of work, thus denying the view that the "gospel is the eternal gospel" preached by Jesus Christ.

Rejecting the doctrine of "Jesus' atonement "

Christianity clearly states that in Christ, the blood of goats and calves is not used; rather, people are redeemed and drawn closer to God through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. The Bible points out that only "blood" can atone for human sins. This "blood" is the method of redemption given to people by God and is also the only way for people to be redeemed. Ephesians 1:7: “In accordance with the riches of his grace we have redemption through the blood of the Son, the forgiveness of sins.” Ephesians 2:13: “But you who were once far from God have now been brought near in him through the blood of his flesh.” Hebrews 9:12: “And he did not enter the sanctuary once for all with the blood of goats or calves, but with his own blood he entered once for all, thus accomplishing eternal atonement.” Hebrews 9:22: “In the law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” Hebrews 10:18: “Since these sins have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins.”

The "Almighty God" cult claims that "God" has quietly come to earth to do salvation in the last days. They use the "female Christ" to speak and make people get rid of their corrupt nature, replacing the view in the Bible that salvation can only be obtained through the precious blood of Jesus.
